Abigail graduated in May of 2020 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in psychology from University of North Carolina Asheville. During her last two years of college she was a member of Dr. Jennifer R. Ward’s lab where she looked at extra-pair paternity in tree swallows (Tachycineta bicolor). While in the Ward lab, Abigail extracted DNA from tree swallow feathers that was then genetically analyzed to look at the parental patterns among adult birds and the offspring found in their nests. Having recently moved from Asheville to Denver, she is not only excited to embark on her new adventure here, but also to gain new experiences and skills with the Ramachandran lab.
