Van La

Van received her Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Toxicology (2017) and Master of Science degree in Forensic Science (2019) from the University of California, Davis (UC Davis). At UC Davis, she joined the Olson Laboratory to work on developing a method to separate chiral drugs of abuse using Fluorine NMR. In addition, Van also worked with Dr. John Newman at the U. S. Department of Agriculture ARS Western Human Nutrition laboratory analyzing fatty acids using mass spectrometry. After graduation, she worked as an Associate Scientist at Newomics, a biotechnology company focused on leveraging microfluidics and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry for precision medicine (omics). In 2022, Van joined the Structural Biology and Biochemistry PhD program at CU Anschutz. Currently, in the Ramachandran laboratory, she hopes to learn more about epigenetics involving nucleosome structure and dynamics. Additionally, she aims to gain a deeper understanding of the computational dimensions inherent in the analysis of omics-related data.
